Nixtamalized white corn flour Maza Real 1kg
NON-GMO, vegan, gluten free, whole grain, free of preservatives and additives. 100% Natural Mexican white corn.
Instructions
To prepare the masa add 1.3 - 1.5 litres of water per each kilogram of corn flour. Suggested water temperature between 25-45 Celsius. Mix ingredients thoroughly for 5-7 minutes until obtaining a soft dough. If dough feels dry add more water. To achieve optimal taste and texture, let the dough rest between 7-10 minutes.
Divide the dough into little balls according to the tortilla size you wish to obtain as result. Cover the dough with a damp cloth to keep the dough moist.
If using a tortilla press, cover both surfaces with a plastic bag or baking paper. If not using a tortilla press, place the dough ball in a plan surface, press uniformly until a circular slim shape is achieved (12cm - 15cm diameter).
Preheat a skillet, griddle or pan on medium heat, cook tortillas one by one for around 50-60 seconds, flip and cook the other side for 50-60 seconds.
